The Global Hearth Summit – the world's largest event of its kind – came to Ljubljana, Slovenia from June 17–20, 2025. Organised by The Wellbeing Project, this transformative four-day gathering brought together over 1,000 changemakers from 90+ countries, spread across 14 distinct venues throughout the city.
At its heart was Cankarjev dom, buzzing with keynote talks, panel discussions, workshops, and breathtaking artistic performances. But the summit spilled far beyond its walls – from Republic Square, where 800+ participants joined hands in an opening Collective Movement, to the historic Ljubljana Castle, where VIP Hearth Feasts unfolded with live performances by local and international artists. The event closed with a candlelight Solstice Ritual at sunrise – a procession through the sleeping city that moved everyone who witnessed it.
Speakers and artists from over 100 countries explored themes ranging from ecological wellbeing, intergenerational trauma and peacebuilding, to the humanisation of AI, urban resilience and neuroscience – all through the powerful lens of wellbeing. Partners included Georgetown University, the University of Ljubljana, and over 60 institutions worldwide.
My Lightspark team and I had the honour of providing full photo and video coverage of this extraordinary event. Our documentation spanned all 14 venues – from intimate workshop moments and powerful keynote addresses to sweeping crowd scenes and after-dark rituals. We delivered professional event photography capturing the emotion, energy, and human connection at the heart of every gathering, alongside a full video production including a cinematic recap film that tells the story of the summit from beginning to end. Every quiet glance, every standing ovation, every sunrise moment – we were there to document it all.
